Scátháin owner John McWilliam had the honor of being asked to speak at the Milwaukee Maker Faire that took place the last weekend in September.

The Maker Faire "is the greatest show (and tell) on Earth - a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement." While it didn't start in Milwaukee, it has found its way here thanks to the innovation the Midwest is bringing to the rest of the world.

Surrounded by Tesla Coils and robots, John spoke about how he turned his craft into a business. And then how that business gave an old school technique world-wide recognition. He passed around samples of the wood, metal, and mirror that put Scátháin on the map, and answered questions the audience had.

Over 45,000 people attended the Maker Faire over the course of the weekend, and it is expected to grow year after year. This is proof that Milwaukee is filled with hidden treasure and talent. Scátháin is proud to be part it.
