Christof Sander is an artisan, sculptor, and industrial designer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture. While there, he concentrated on creating functional sculptures and also studied design and jewelry metalsmithing techniques. Christof has worked as a foundry assistant at Wanner Sculpture Studios, during which time he has helped cast and finish bronze, aluminum, and iron sculptures.
As an object maker, his goal is to create that which catches both the eye and the curiosity of the user. His background in sculpture and metalsmithing helps direct his detail-oriented design. Christof's work lets the materials speak for themselves and highlights the physical connection a person has when they interact with the object.
Christof has been with Scátháin since May 2011 when he started by helping with metal fabrication. He has since taken on all things design for Scátháin by working directly with clients to achieve concepts, shop drawings for the builders, and branding/identity for Scátháin itself.
