Katerina Sanerib is a working artist. Her academic training started at UW-Milwaukee where she double majored in drawing/painting & sculpture and minored in art history. She then earned a MFA from Florida State University focusing on metal sculpture. Katerina has worked in a variety of fields all related to her artist training, including teaching at numerous universities, such as her alma mater UW-Milwaukee and MIAD.
Katerina has participated in iron art conferences and symposiums around the country. In addition to teaching numerous workshops, she has lead and participated in several panel discussions. Sanerib also served on the 2011 steering committee for the National Cast Iron Conference in Birmingham, AL.
She continues to show her work nationally. She worked assisting an artist casting large scale iron art at Kohler foundry residency and for world renowned artist John Henry in Chattanooga, Tennessee fabricating large scale steel sculptures.
Katerina's work has also taken her internationally. She assisted in teaching cast iron workshops, as well as sculpture restoration, at the Open Air Museum of Steel Sculpture in Coalbergdale, England.
Katerina started at Scathain in early 2012 as a metal welder/fabricator. Since then she has also taken on designing, project managing, client relations and production management.
